Este documento actualiza estudios previos, estimando los costos\ndirectos del crimen en 22 pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n, que ascendieron a 3,4% del PIB\nen 2022. Estos costos incluyen la p\u00e9rdida de capital humano por homicidios, los\ngastos en seguridad por parte de empresas y el gasto p\u00fablico en prevenci\u00f3n del\ndelito. El estudio tambi\u00e9n revisa y sintetiza la literatura reciente sobre los\ncostos indirectos, como los efectos en el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico, la inversi\u00f3n,\nla productividad empresarial, la salud y el medio ambiente.
